Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying Brother SE 400, there weren’t many real reviews around so I thought I’d write one quickly to help any of you who are in the same position I was.
But be warned, I’ll be going into both the good and the bad points, so if that’s something you might not want to hear, then you may as well leave now.

Ok, let’s talk more about the GOOD points of the Brother SE 400:
• Built-in Sewing Stitches—this product is featuring the 67 built-in stitches that also include 10 different styles of 1 step buttonholes. It is providing wide selections of stitches for a particular user that includes the quilting, hemming your old jeans, or making your own bag that is now considered the trend these days. One can choose from the different style of stitches that include the following: Zigzag, Straight, Blind Hem, Decorative, and Heirloom stitches, and others.
• Side cutter—this is responsible in trimming the fabric off at a particular seam as one sew which could be compared to a serger. The finished edge that you will come out of this machine can be mistaken to the products that you normally see in different stores.
• Various stitch functions—it includes the twin, mirror, multi-directional, satin stitch regulator, and the side cutter. The mirror function, for an instance, will allow you to sew a particular decorative stitch in the direction which is opposite from its original settings. In selecting a particular stitch, you should only follow the arrow keys that will browse various stitch icons on the screen until you have chosen your preferred style. You can do the choosing of stitch with your finger or you could also use the stylus and you will see different settings options of its stitches.

• Presser foot—this machine comes with the 8-presser foot snap on. You can see the Zigzag foot have those leveling button that facilitate the maneuvering over the thick seams and edges of fabrics. It has 3 different settings for its height; regular, down, and the extra up for the slipping of thick fabrics that are usually under it.
• Speed control slider—it is use in 2 purposes. It will allow you to take control of the speed of the sewing process using the button of start/stop even without using the food pedal. It can also be used with the foot pedal attached on it and the speed slider control can also be use in the adjustment of the width of stitch as you are sewing.

What about the BAD points about Brother SE 440?
Just like all products out there, nothing is perfect and this Brother SE 440 does have some flaws.
For first-time sewers, this machine might come as a great surprise. In fact, they might even be overwhelmed of all the great and amazing features. This is because it is not often that a machine like the Brother SE 400 comes out in the open. So, if there is one negative side to all of these that would be the overwhelming and surprising features only.
Overall, what do I think?
The Brother SE 400 is definitely made to provide satisfaction and excitement to those who are involved in the embroidery works. Having this machine working at your side, you will have the option of having your own business as you are guaranteed of coming up with beautiful designs that you can place in various fabrics such as your clothes, bibs, or other stuffs. You never know, but these beautifully designed stuffs might be the one that people are looking for.
The feature that really brought the house down is the ability of the machine to download various designs and patterns from the internet and could be saved afterwards. This simply allows them to have their preferred design and they are also presented with wide selections and choices.
